Plastic Free Marianas

When improperly disposed, plastic can be fatal to animals who mistake it for food or become entangled in it. Plastic debris never fully goes away. Instead, it breaks down into tiny pieces, called microplastic, and remain in the environment forever. By choosing to refuse single-use plastic, you can lessen the amount of waste that enters our oceans and landfill every year.

Plastic Free Marianas aims to address the CNMI’s growing plastic pollution problem by educating schools, businesses, and community members about the environmental and public health impacts of single-use plastic pollution and the overarching social, environmental, and economic benefits of generating less waste. DCRM will provide tools, resources, and trainings for adopting a zero-waste lifestyle.
